New traits on your health, metabolism, genetic ancestry and fresh recommendations are in your Atlas Biomed DNA and Microbiome Personal Account.
We’ve provided a description for each trait, explaining the meaning of results and helping you make informed decisions about your lifestyle.
Today we have updated the algorithm that interprets your test results. That means we have parsed newly published studies and added new traits. This data is available both to new test buyers and to those who have already done the genetic testing.
🦄 Our mission is to build a continuously-updating ecosystem of scientific and medical knowledge about your health with Atlas products.
New in Disease Risks
The Disease risks section shows the probability of developing certain conditions during one's lifetime. Risk factors usually include genetics, lifestyle and medical history. Knowing your disease risk will help you take preventive action and avoid unwanted conditions.
We have added two new conditions, Migraine and Urolithiasis. In total, there are now 19 traits in our Disease risks section.
Each disease’s risk estimation has been confirmed by at least one large-scale scientific study with results proving a statistically-significant relationship between the identified polymorphisms and the risk.
✏️ Genetics and lifestyle together influence the development of multi-factor diseases. Therefore, we recommend retaking the questionnaire in order to get a more accurate estimation of your risks.
Sports genetics
Your sports profile is calculated using your genetic data. It shows personal metabolism features and exercise recommendations to build the optimal workout plan with a professional trainer.
We have added seven more traits to the new version of the sports genetics interpretation:
- L-carnitine levels
- Level of free IGF-1
- Serum leucine level
- Serum valine level
- Serum erythropoietin level
- Susceptibility to inguinal hernia
- Susceptibility to lumbar disk degeneration
Nutrition
This section helps you understand how DNA influences your metabolism, eating habits and food preferences so that you can make informed decisions about your diet.
We added eight new microelements into our interpretation:
- Vitamin B5
- Alpha-linolenic acid (an omega−3 fatty acid)
- Docosapentaenoic acid (an omega−3 fatty acid)
- Eicosapentaenoic acid (an omega−3 fatty acid)
- Arachidonic acid (an omega−6 fatty acid)
- Dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (omega−6 fatty acid)
- Docosatetraenoic acid (an omega−6 fatty acid)
- Gamma-linolenic acid (an omega−6 fatty acid)
New algorithms of ethnic interpretation
Genetic belonging is an emotionally-charged subject. We are happy to let you know that today Atlas is taking a small step forward. This interpretation update includes new estimation algorithms and updated reference databases for various ethnic groups.
🌍If you are a pure representative of any ethnic group (you are the third generation of a pure group that started at least with your grandparents), write to us! We will be happy to offer you or your relatives a free genetic test kit.
🚀 Our interpretation re-estimates your ancestry according to our new features. It is already complete, and all of the information described is available in your personal account. This is an important long-awaited day for our entire team. We hope that after reading the story, the results update will be good news for you too.
We going back to work and preparing a lot of new things. We will continue to share all of this news on our blog. Stay tuned!
